Choosing That Perfect Sofa

Whatever your personality, when choosing a couch or sofa, you should always choose one that shows some of your personal style and taste. There are many brands, sizes, colors, and styles of couches, and many materials in which they are made. If you, for instance, have a country home, and the general feel of your home sets people at ease and is comfortable, then you would choose a couch that is perhaps overstuffed and cushiony. Big cushions and smaller throw pillows will add to your homes warmth and congeniality. If you live in a studio, and most of your furnishings are stainless or glass, then a leather couch on a stainless base would be an excellent choice. The main key to remember when choosing a couch is to ensure that it will fit in with your other furnishings, and that some of your personality is involved in the choice.

Old English Home Decor

Decorating your home in an Old English Décor will instantly add charm and elegance. Colors are abundant, and color hues are very natural, such as pinks and yellows from roses found within an English garden, or the greens from rolling hills on an English countryside. You can choose to keep the colors vibrant, or mute them, and the styles should feature a wide variety of patterns. The predominant pattern of choice in an English décor is floral. Flowers are seen decorating vases, window treatments, furniture, rugs, etc.

Adding lamps, candles, or classic chandeliers is also evident in English home décor. Rather than using recessed lighting, lamps give off a warm and comfortable light.

Simplicity is key in this style of decorating. Don’t overdo and add too much to tables, mantels, or even walls. Just a hint of color goes a long way.

Decorating for Fall

Fall is a very beautiful time of year. With the changing leaves all around, the beauty of the outdoors is possibly most evident in fall than in any other season. Incorporating these colors into your home décor is not only beautiful, but also easy.

Fall floral arrangements can be made very easily and inexpensively. By simply pushing pieces of florist foam into pumpkins or gourds, you can use these as your base, and then add berries, tiny pumpkins, oranges, apples, or anything else that you please. By doing this, you create a beautiful fall arrangement that will look wonderful in any room in your home. Use these arrangements as centerpieces on your dining room table, or small versions on tables in living rooms or bedrooms to give your home an autumn appeal.
