Choosing That Perfect Sofa
Whatever your personality, when choosing a couch or sofa, you should always choose one that shows some of your personal style and taste. There are many brands, sizes, colors, and styles of couches, and many materials in which they are made. If you, for instance, have a country home, and the general feel of your home sets people at ease and is comfortable, then you would choose a couch that is perhaps overstuffed and cushiony. Big cushions and smaller throw pillows will add to your homes warmth and congeniality. If you live in a studio, and most of your furnishings are stainless or glass, then a leather couch on a stainless base would be an excellent choice. The main key to remember when choosing a couch is to ensure that it will fit in with your other furnishings, and that some of your personality is involved in the choice.
You have the choice of wood furniture, where the piece is predominantly wood, with perfectly shaped cushions, which is a clean and sleek looking couch. There are also couches that look completely upholstered, without the legs showing, that give a warm, comfortably, country feel. Sectionals have become very popular in the last few years. Sectionals are, in essence, your complete living room furniture line-up in one piece. They take up a great amount of space, but are beautiful and practical, especially if your floor plan doesn’t allow for the adding of extra furniture pieces. Recliners are generally built in to the end seats of a sectional sofa.
Let’s not overlook the fact that retro furniture has made a wonderful comeback. If you like the bright colors and fabrics of the retro period, then you may choose a retro sofa. They are very modern, and make beautiful and interesting pieces.
Whatever your choice in a couch, be sure to place it against the largest wall if possible. Your couch should be the focal point of your room, and it’s a beautiful statement to place them in front of larger picture windows. Your choice in a couch should be a reflection of who you are. Choosing one should be a fun and easy task. Of course, pricing for couches will vary as much as the variety, but a little research and “window shopping” will get you ready for the major purchase, and the addition of your new couch to your home.

I have been thinking about replacing my sofa, but mainly because the coffee table does not really match its style. I was trying to decide whether I should just change my coffee table instead but I think the soft is more of a problem.
Great post btw!
