African Jungle home décor is beautiful and it literally screams culture. But how do you add it to your home? You can start with a single piece, and add things to compliment that piece. Assuming, of course, that you don’t plan to entirely redecorate your home. Choose a room, or even one wall in a room, and start small. You want to build the décor up, not overdo it at once.

Jungle animals are very popular in home décor. Elephants, giraffes, zebras; you can find these animals everywhere just waiting to be taken home. Let’s assume that you’re going to decorate your living room. Start small, maybe with a figurine, and build from that single piece. If you’ve decided that you want elephants, then find a piece that you really like, and place it in the room that you’re decorating. There are many pieces with elephants, from tables to lamps to couches. You can go to just about any extreme and still have a lovely room for you and your guests to enjoy.

Changing your home décor from season to season can be as simple as adding a few minor items, such as throw pillows or flowers. Many people, during the colder months replace their thin curtains for heavier ones to ensure that cold air is kept out. This is a wonderful idea to help with the heating bill, but it also causes your home to seem dark and dreary. Consider the colors that you are adding. Most heavy curtains, especially those used during the holiday season, are darker colors, such as hunter green or a deep red. Choosing to instead use curtains that are colorful, with floral arrangements in the pattern, can add much needed light to the dreary winter months, and make your home seem much less cold and dark.

Christmas in the country is a time of celebration, joy, and homemade goodies. Even if you don’t live in the country, you can still give your home the feeling of a country Christmas. Start by making some handmade decorations for your tree. Using cookie cutters, you can cut out many shapes and designs of decorations. Start by cutting out two identical shapes from felt, and another from batting. You can either stitch the ornament, or use fabric glue to stick the two pieces together. The batting should be between the two pieces prior to sewing or gluing. Add things like eyes where needed, or ribbon, and decorate the ornaments, then hang them on your tree, along with hand strung popcorn and cranberries. You could also use the ornaments that your children have made in school to add a country look to your Christmas tree.
