French Country Home Decor
Bright sunshine and fields of lavender no doubt make you think of a French Countryside. The idea of decorating your home in a French Country Décor will result in comfort and old world welcome.
Colors for French Country décor are many, and cover the full spectrum of the color wheel. Yellow, red, burnt rust, bright green, soft ocean tones, and many more are found in French Country homes.
An important thing to consider is to use natural materials. Delicately carved wood and woven chair seats add simplicity to your décor. Simplicity is, after all, the most important factor when decorating in the French Country style. Rusted metal furniture and light fixtures are very popular, and they add warmth and detail.
You could start with a simple French Vase added to a fireplace mantel, or sofa table. Adding one or two pieces at a time will allow you the time to search for just the right pieces. You should integrate as much of your personal style and taste as possible, after all, your home is the main component when determining your personality, so it should be a reflection of you.
Choose wall art that accents your current furnishings. In kitchens, rooster prints and figurines will add rustic charm and beauty, while not requiring a complete overhaul of your structure.
Consider a wall display of classic porcelain blue and white plates. Placed strategically and symmetrically on a wall near a dining or kitchen table with a skirted topper, these pieces are elegant, and literally scream France. It’s very reminiscent of a French Café, and you’ll feel instantly peaceful and serene. Add to that golden sconces, candles, and maybe antique white iron chairs, and you’ll swear that you’ve been transported to the French countryside.
Decorating or redecorating your home in the beautiful French country theme does not have to be a long or an expensive process. You can simply choose to add pieces as you find them. Country French décor is becoming more and more popular, and has definitely taken on a fresh, clean and up to date look. Just remember to keep it simple, too much will make your room seem cluttered. Take your time and choose pieces that accent your current furnishings, or go all out and choose completely new furnishings. Which ever way you decide, one thing is clear, by the time you’re finished, guests in your home will be expecting an éclair before they leave.

Not too sure how the french countryside will looks like as I’m trying to visualize something similar to greek countryside living with lots of rustic metals..
